Good Bones

Good Bones

Good bones are essential to a landscape project. The Hardscape are the bones that set the stage for landscape and finished plantings. The colors and textures will change with the seasons, but the bones remain stable and settled. Next Spring when the grass is green and the planting’s are popping, this will be a scene to be seen:)

20 years later...

This driveway in Long Grove survived 20 years of Chicago winters, went vacant in foreclosure for 5 years. Finally after foreclosure the new owners, needed a new driveway.  We salvaged the old neglected brick and reinstalled it with a different border detail, Brussels Block and Town Hall from Unilock.  Our fine crew of Juan and Alfredo is cleaning the drive, getting it ready for polymeric sand. Looks good for another 20 I bet... They did it right the first time with segmental paving. Proving its value as a recycled material.

Nothing like a Saturday night at home.  Perfect weather for a fire, grilling out, watching Blackhawks hockey, or just all of the above.

Cheers:)

Beware the water.

Over the years We have estimated and designed many projects. Some of them we get and some of them we don't.   Such is life.

But a contractor that doesn't have the skills to perform his trade properly, should not be in a position to estimate or even compete in the marketplace. "But he's cheap"

Homeowners, buyers of new, and old homes...beware.

think of your kitchen ....would you hire someone to perform less than average work because they were cheap? If the doors fell off the cabinets after 2 years, it would get around fast and no more contractor. Why in the world would you hire someone to do that to the front of your house? It seems lately I've seen some really poor work and it's frustrating to see homeowners throwing their money away "to save money". If you want to save money, do yourself a favor and save your money.

What is this ? A stone stoop?

Flagstone steppers u wanted? Stone slab steps, precast retaining wall. all garbage. This all needs to be redone.

Look at the stone on the house. The patio Hardscape area cheapens it. It's horrible and this is what people are paying for? I don't think one homeowner would want this "quality work" at their home.

Photo of the week. Skippy

Skippy is an adorable 7 yr old Pomeranian that loves her patio. She likes the sound of water and eating treats in the shade. She prefers these cool nights and can't wait till fall to lay by the fireplace.

Send us your "Skippy" photos, we'd love to see them:)
